Hononegah Community High School's AP Policy

Once the exam has started latecomers will not be admitted, per College Board. Be on time!

Transportation:

 Provide your own transportation.  Ample parking is available next to the facility, but plan to arrive earlier then the 7:30 check-in time, in order to avoid traffic congestion.

 

What not to bring:

*  Cell phones and other electronic or communication devices are prohibited in testing room by College Board.  Please do not bring these items to your testing facility and/or room.

*  Backpacks and purses are not allowed in the testing rooms.

What to bring:

*  All students must bring a photo id- either school ID card or driver's license are acceptable.

*  Black or dark-blue ballpoint pens for free-response questions in most exams.

*  Several sharpened Number 2 pencils (with erasers) for all multiple-choice answer sheets.

*  An AP authorized calculator if you are taking an AP Biology, Calculus AB, Calculus BC, Chemistry, Physics, or Statistics exam.

*  Students may bring a small snack and/or beverages to consume during the 10 min. break between sections 1 & 2.  All snacks and beverages must be left in the hallway area, as food and beverages are not allowed in the testing room.

*  It is recommended to bring a sack lunch if you will be taking 2 exams in one day, there is not time to leave the building and get lunch.

 

OFF CAMPUS AP TESTING PERMISSION SLIP

I grant permission for my child/ward to participate in AP testing at St. Peters Didier Hall (South Beloit) and/or Rockton Community Center (Rockton).

I agree to:

Authorization to treat minor: In the event that I cannot be reached in an emergency, I hereby give my permission to call 911 and/or to contact a medical facility or physician selected by the school staff to secure proper treatment for my child and that I will be responsible for said expense.

Prescription or over-the-counter medication: I certify that I have on file in the school office, a current form stating all medications that my child must take.

* I understand that taking any AP test is optional and a voluntary activity. Attendance by my child is not required and an alternative activity at school will be provided if my child does not participate.

*Class attendance is important. Teachers may incorporate attendance and daily class participation with their grading policies. Field trips are also an important part of the curricula. Students are responsible for all missing work. He or she must take the initiative in obtaining missing assignments and submitting completed assignments.

*I understand that all students going on this trip will be responsible in conduct to the bus driver, teacher and test supervisors.

*I understand that the school district will not be held liable for any incidents happening during transportation.

*I understand that students who are not present at the appropriate pickup place and time for the school provided transportation will be responsible for their own transportation to the AP test.

*It is understood and agreed that the AP testing shall constitute a field trip for purpose of school activities and regulations.

WAIVER OF CLAIM: I, the parent or legal guardian of the student which I am allowing to participate, acknowledge that as a condition of my son/daughter/ward participating in said activity, agree to indemnify and hold harmless the school, its employees and volunteers, the Hononegah Community High School District, its governing board, the individual members thereof, and all other district officers, agents and employees from any liability, lawsuit, cost, expense or claim if any type whatsoever (including attorney’s fees) for any harm, injury or death arising out of the named field trip.
