Pike High School's AP Policy

2026 AP Exam Registration

General Registration Information

Taking the Advanced Placement exams is an important part of all AP courses. Pike High School expects all students to take AP exams for their corresponding AP class(s). Taking an AP class and the corresponding exam will help students meet their graduation requirements.  Scoring well on an AP exam can earn students college credit for their high school class, saving a significant amount on college tuition.

For the 2026 AP exams, students at Pike High School will be registering online. This registration will take a few minutes and can be completed from any computer, laptop, iPad, or phone with internet access.

Online Exam registration will begin on Monday, August 11, 2025 at 7:00 AM and end on Friday, October 31 at 2:00 PM.  Students should visit www.TotalRegistration.net/AP/152510 to register.  To complete registration, students must answer all of the required questions. Registration is not complete until students have paid online using the Total Registration website, printed the confirmation page,  and brought their confirmation page to the PHS Guidance Office.  We know that parents may desire to register their students for exams, but we strongly recommend that parents and students are both present while registering to ensure that the correct exams are ordered.

Fees

We’ll be using Total Registration’s online payment system, and as a result, each AP exam will cost $110. Due to recent legislative changes, the state is only covering two AP Exams in the STEM fields and a limited number of non-STEM classes.  Students who are on free or reduced lunch will pay $60 per AP exam not covered by the state.  Free & Reduced (F&R) status will be verified through the registration process so please make sure to complete the F&R application ASAP.  Pike High School desires that every student be able to take their AP exams. Students requiring financial assistance who do not qualify for F&R lunch should contact either Mrs. Danielle Vohland or Mrs. Tara McPherson in the PHS Guidance Office.

Testing

Morning tests begin at 8am.  You still need to arrive at school by 7:15am.  We will make an announcement at 7:20am regarding the daily test schedule.  You’ll need to be in your test area by 7:30am.

Afternoon exams begin at 12pm.  If you have a PM test, you can eat A or B LUNCH as long as you’re in your test area by 11:30am.  Please make sure to make transportation arrangements to go home for all PM exams.

If you have 2 tests on the SAME DAY at the SAME TIME or if you have other schedule conflicts, please see Mrs. Danielle Vohland in the PHS Guidance Office for alternative testing options.

Important reminders & exam CHANGES for 2026:

  • ALL students must have their student ID with them at each AP exam – CELL PHONES WILL NOT BE ALLOWED.
  • NO MECHANICAL PENCILS!  This is a new policy from College Board – students cannot use mechanical pencils regardless of the lead type.  Students must only use regular No. 2 pencils.  Students will also need a black or blue ink pen.  A limited number of both pens and pencils will be available but we strongly encourage students to bring their own.
  • NO FOOD OR DRINKS!  Students cannot have food or drinks with them while taking the exam.  They may keep those items in their backpacks, which they may briefly access during breaks.
  • NO CELL PHONES!  Students may not have their cell phones during testing, and phones cannot be stored in their backpacks.  Cell phones will be collected by the proctor, but it is easier if students keep their phones secured in their lockers.
  • Students must remember their College Board MyAP login information to login into the Bluebook app to take most of their AP Exams.
  • NO WEARABLE TECHNOLOGY PERIOD!
