AP EXAM REMINDERS:

You should bring the following items to the exam room:

  • Several sharpened No. 2 pencils (with erasers) for completing multiple-choice answer sheets.
  • Pens with black or dark blue ink for completing areas on the exam booklet covers and for free-response questions on most exams.
  • A simple four-function (with square root) calculator is allowed for AP Biology exam.
  • Up to two calculators with the necessary capabilities if you are taking an AP Calculus, Chemistry, Physics, or Statistics exam. Calculators may not be shared with other students during the exam. Visit www.collegeboard.com/ap/calculators to learn more about the calculator policy for each of these exams, and for a list of authorized calculators. Fresh batteries are recommended. Calculators are not allowed in any other AP exams.
  • A ruler or straightedge if you are taking an AP Physics exam.
  • Your school ID.

You should NOT bring the following to the exam room:

  • Cell phones, smart phones, smartwatches, laptops, tablet computers, portable listening or recording devices such as MP3 players and iPods, cameras or other photographic equipment, devices that can access the internet or any other electronic or communication devices.
    • If any of the above are brought to the testing room they will be taken up during the test and handed back out once the exam concludes. 
  • Books, compasses, mechanical pencils, colored pencils, correction fluid, dictionaries, highlighters, or notes.
  • Rulers and straightedges (except as noted above for the AP Physics exam)
  • Scratch paper (notes can be made on portions of the exam booklet or, for Chinese Language, on scratch paper provided by the proctor)
  • Computers or calculators (except as noted above)
  • Reference guides, keyboard maps, or other typing instructions.
  • Watches that beep or have an alarm.
  • Clothing with subject-related information.

Other Important Information:

  • You are required to arrive on time. Please arrive by 7:25 am for morning exams and 11:30 am for afternoon exams. 
  • Students may not be dismissed until an exam has officially ended; do not ask to leave early if you finish before the end of the exam. 
  • Afternoon exams will go past the end of the school day.  If you play a sport, have a job or pick up/take care of a sibling after school it is your responsibility to inform your coach or employer of your AP Exam obligation. Please make arrangements for all of these obligations accordingly..
  • It is advisable to bring a sweater, in case the room temperature is below your comfort level

Snacks/Lunch

  • You are allowed to bring a snack and beverage for your 10-minute break. However, food and drinks are prohibited at your exam desk. 
  • If you have two exams in one day, please bring a lunch as you may not have enough time to get one from the cafeteria.

You are required to abide by the policies of both the College Board and Cypress Ranch High School during the exam period. Any misconduct will be reported and could jeopardize your AP Exam score. If you decide not to take an exam, please inform one of the AP Coordinators as soon as possible prior to the test administration.
