Eastern Regional High School's AP Policy

Please be aware of the AP exam policies and rules set forth by this school and the College Board:

 

  • No students will be allowed admittance to exam rooms once exam has started.
  • No students will be allowed admittance to exam rooms without proper ID (EHS school ID, Driver's license)
  • During scheduled or unscheduled breaks during exams, students are not allowed to consult textbooks, notes, or ask questions to teachers or other students. Do not use electronic or communication devices during breaks.
  • Do not leave the building during the exam.
  • Students seeking accommodations (such as extra time, small group testing, etc.) on AP Exams MUST 1) receive accommodations as part of their program at Eastern Regional High School and 2) must submit an official request for accommodations to the COLLEGE BOARD no later than January 17, 2022 in order to allow time for review and processing by the College Board.  Requests submitted after this deadline will not be processed in time for the 2022 AP test dates.  Only students with College Board approved accommodations will receive supplemental supports as allowed by the testing agency. 

WHAT TO BRING TO THE EXAM ROOM:

    • No. 2 pencils (no mechanical ) for multiple-choice answer sheet
    • Pens with black or dark blue ink for completing areas on the exam booklet covers and for free-response questions in most exams
    • Government-issued or school-issued photo I.D.
    • Calculators - If you are allowed to use a calculator on your AP Exam, review the College Board’s calculator policies to make sure you bring an acceptable calculator for your particular exam.  Eastern Regional High School will not be able to provide calculators to students during testing.  

WHAT NOT TO BRING TO THE EXAM ROOM:

    • Electronic equipment or communication devices, like cell phones, smartphones, tablets or anything else that can access the internet
    • Calculators that do not meet College Board standards.  
    • Cameras or other photographic equipment
    • Watches that beep or have an alarm (or smart watches)
    • No food or drink in the testing area, including bottled water.  We will have a location away from the testing area where students may leave snacks and/or lunch.  

Students taking AP Tests at Eastern Regional High School will be excused from all regularly scheduled class periods on the days that they are testing.  They may arrive at the posted report time for their test and leave at the conclusion of their testing period.  However, in order for class attendance to be excused, they MUST sign in and/or out with the Eastern Regional High School Attendance Office.  If students remain on school grounds after testing, they must be in their assigned class period or, if it is the end of the instructional school day, in an appropriate setting per school expectations related to after school hours.  Students will face disciplinary action for disregarding these guidelines.

*Student Athletes:  Please note that afternoon AP exams may run past the end of the school day.  If they do, you will NOT be permitted to leave an exam room until the end of the official exam test time.  Thus, you may miss a practice and/or game.  DO NOT REGISTER FOR EXAMS unless you are prepared to remain in the exam room for the full extent of the exam period, which includes actual test time as well as general instructions, gridding of information on answer sheets, and breaks.  Please be sure to communicate your testing schedule to your coaches ahead of exam day.  If you make the choice to leave the exam room before the official dismissal time dictated by proctors at the end of the exam period, your AP Test will not be graded by the College Board and no refund of exam costs will be given.
