Washington Township HS's AP Policy

  • STUDENT EMAIL

    • Day before exam - Check your exact time and location of your AP Exam.

  • ATTENDANCE

    • Email reminder - Students will receive an email reminder the day before your scheduled exam and will not be given a pass to report to exams. 

    • Marked present - For a full day of school if students take one AP Exam per day. 

    • Morning arrival - 7:30am for an 8:00am exam without penalty. 

      • Students are permitted to leave when their morning exam concludes. 

    • Afternoon arrival - 11:30am for a 12:00pm exam without penalty. 

    • Student responsibility - Communicate with teachers, coaches, or advisors the time they may miss school, practices, or meetings, and determine how to make up missed time. 

    • College Board procedures - We cannot allow students to leave the exam room prior to the exam concluding.

  • IDENTIFICATION

    • School ID or driver’s license - Bring on the day of your exam since exams could be administered by a substitute and they will not be able to verify your identity. 

  • MATERIALS

    • Bring - School-issued laptop with charger, pencils, black pen, calculator (if applicable), tissues, and a snack/drink (available during break only).

      • Any bags, food, and electronics (turned off) will be collected and kept in a separate part of the exam room.

    • Attire - Dress comfortably and wear layers since testing rooms can be cool or warm. 

  • LATENESSES

  • Reporting late - Will not be able to take the exam and will not receive a refund.

  • ABSENCES 

    • Absent - You must email Mr. Lemons aalemons@wtps.org and Mr. Palmer cpalmer@wtps.org, your counselor, teacher, and parent. 

      • Late AP Exams - It is the district’s and College Board’s discretion to offer as they are not regularly granted. 

  • CANCELLATIONS

  • No refunds - After March 14, 2026 for an unused/cancelled exam.

  • Cancel – Parent or student must submit a cancellation request through Total Registration and email the student’s teacher and counselor to inform them of the cancellation.

  • REIMBURSEMENTS

    • Students will receive test fee reimbursement based on their AP scores

    • Full fee students

      • Score 5  =100% ($99), Score 4 =75% ($74), Score 3 = 50% ($50)

    • Reduced fee students

      • Score 5  =100% ($40), Score 4 =75% ($30), Score 3 = 50% ($20)
