Silver Creek High School's AP Policy

Thank you for signing up to take an Advanced Placement Test.  Bring the following items with you to the exam: DO NOT BRING ELECTRONIC DEVICES OF ANY SORT INTO THE TESTING ROOM. 

o   A picture ID

o   Several sharpened No. 2 pencils (with erasers)—no mechanical pencils

o   Pens with black or dark blue ink

o   A watch (no alarms)

o   A calculator with the necessary capabilities if you’re taking an AP Calculus, Chemistry, Physics, Biology or Statistics exams.  Visit www.collegeboard.com/apstudents for a list of authorized calculators and the calculator policy.

o   A ruler or straightedge if you’re taking an AP Physics exam.

Do NOT bring the following to the exam:

o   CELL PHONES, PERSONAL DIGITAL ASSISTANTS (PDAS), BLACKBERRY SMARTPHONES, BLUETOOTH-ENABLED DEVICES, MP3 PLAYERS, E-MAIL/MESSAGING DEVICES, SMART WATCHES OR ANY OTHER ELECTRONIC OR COMMUNICATION DEVICES.

o   Books, compasses, mechanical pencils, correction fluid, dictionaries, highlighters, notes, or colored pencils

o   Rulers and straightedges (except for AP Physics exam)

o   Scratch paper

o   Computers (except as noted for students with disabilities) or calculators (except for exams in Calculus, Chemistry, Physics, Biology or Statistics .

o   Watches that beep or have an alarm

o   Portable listening or recording devices (even with headphones) or photographic equipment

o   Food or drink (water bottle is okay)

o   Clothing with subject-related information

You are required to arrive at the testing site 15 minutes prior to your exam.  Morning exams will begin promptly at 8:00 a.m. and afternoon exams will begin promptly at 12:15 p.m.  Parking is available at all testing sites.

1.            Students may NOT be dismissed until an exam has officially ended.  Do NOT ask to leave early if you finish before the end of the test.  If you play a sport or have a job, it is your responsibility to inform your coach or employer and make the appropriate arrangements.  Morning exams should be completed by 12:00 noon and afternoon exams should be completed by 4:30 p.m.

2.            Eating is prohibited while you are taking an exam; however, a snack and beverage may be provided during the 10-minute break.

3.            It is advisable to bring a sweater or jacket in case the room temperature is below your comfort level.
