Hoffman Estates High School's AP Policy

Please be aware of the AP exam policies and rules set forth by Hoffman Estates High School and the College Board:

  • No students will be allowed admittance to exam rooms once the exam has started.

    • For morning exams, students should report to their testing location at 7:30am

    • For afternoon exams, students should report to their testing location at 11:30 am

  • During scheduled or unscheduled exam breaks, students are not allowed to: consult textbooks, notes, ask questions to teachers or other students, use electronic communication devices.

  • Students may not leave the building during the exam.

 

Students should bring the following items with them on test day:

  • Two No. 2 pencils for multiple-choice answer sheet; mechanical pencils are not allowed

  • Two pens with black or dark blue ink for completing areas on the exam booklet covers and for free-response questions in most exam

  • Government-issued or school-issued photo I.D

  • Calculators - If you are allowed to use a calculator on your AP Exam, review the College Board’s calculator policies to make sure you bring an acceptable calculator for your particular exam

  • A fully charged school-issued iPad (Digital exams only)

  • Know your College Board login credentials (Digital exams only)

 

The following items are not allowed in testing rooms and should be left at home or in student lockers:

  • Electronic equipment or communication devices, such as cell phones, smartwatches, or any other device that can access the internet; school-issued iPads are required in digital exams only

  • Cameras or other photographic equipment

  • Watches that beep or have an alarm

  • No food or drink in the exam room, including bottled water

***If any of these items are discovered in the exam room while testing is in session the individual student's exam will be voided

All cancellations must be submitted through the Total Registration website.  All test cancellations prior to May 4th, 2025 will receive a refund minus a $40 cancellation fee per test canceled. If you qualify for a fee waiver, you will be charged a $40.00 cancellation fee. Any cancellation received BEFORE November 15, 2024 will receive a full refund.
