What Students Should Bring to the Exam Room

  • Their SD308 fully-charged Chromebook and their charger.
  • College Board log-in and password.
  • Several sharpened No. 2 pencils for the multiple-choice answer sheets
  • Pens, with black or dark blue ink only, for completing the free-response questions in most exams.
  • School Code: 143330
  • Up to two calculators with the necessary capabilities if they are taking an AP Biology, Calculus, Chemistry, Physics or Statistics.

  • Ruler or straightedge if taking an AP Physics Exam
  • Government-issued or school-issued Photo ID.
  • College Board SSD Accommodations Letter if taking an exam with approved testing accommodations.
  • Earbuds/headphones, if available, for World Language and Music Theory exams.
  • Students are encouraged to dress in layers in order to be comfortable during the length of the exam.

What Students Should NOT Bring to the Exam Room

  • Electronic equipment (cell phone, smartphone, smartwatch or other wearable technology, laptop, tablet computer, etc), portable listening or recording devices (MP3 player, iPod, etc), cameras or other photographic equipment, devices that can access the internet, or any other electronic or communication devices.
  • Books, compasses, mechanical pencils, correction fluid, dictionaries, highlighters*, notes or colored pencils*.
  • Rulers, straightedges, and protractors (except as previously noted).*
  • Scratch paper (notes can be made on portions of the exam booklets or, for Chinese Language, on scratch paper provided by the proctor).
  • Computers* or calculators (except as previously noted).
  • Watches that beep or have an alarm.
  • Food or drink.*
  • Clothing with subject-related information.
  • Earplugs.

*Unless this has been preapproved as an accommodation by the College Board Services for Students with Disabilities office prior to the exam date.

Calculator Policy

  • A graphing calculator is required for students taking the AP Calculus AB or Calculus BC Exam.
  • A graphing calculator with statistical capabilities is expected if they are taking the AP Statistics Exam.
  • A four-function, scientific, or graphing calculator is permitted for the Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Physics 1, Physics 2 and Physics C Exams.
  • A four-function calculator is allowed for students taking Microeconomics and Macroeconomics exams.
  • Students may bring up to two calculators to these exams, but they may not share calculators. For Calculus, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Micro/Macroeconomics, Physics, or Statistics exams, if a student has a graphing calculator, it must be on the approved calculator list.
  • Calculators are NOT allowed for any other AP Exams, including AP Computer Science and Computer Science Principles.

Reporting to Exam Rooms

  • Be On Time! Check-in will begin at 7:30 am for the 8:00 am exams, and at 11:30 am for the 12:00 pm exams.
  • Directions will start promptly at 8:00 am / 12:00 pm (or before if all students are in attendance)
  • Students will NOT be allowed in the exam once the exam has begun.
  • You MUST have a current government-issued or school-issued ID.
  • Have electronic devices in your locker. (If brought with you, you will be asked to turn them in upon check-in. Devices will be returned after students are dismissed)

Discussing Exam Content

Students and educators may discuss only the specific free-response content that is released on the College Board website two days after the exam administration. Discussion of these questions may not begin until that time. Exam content that is not released may never be discussed.
