San Mateo High School's AP Policy

Please be aware of the AP exam policies and rules set forth by San Mateo High School and the College Board:
- NO student(s) will be admitted into the testing room, once the exam has begun
- Snack and water are allowed, but must be kept aside and only accessed during the break
- During scheduled or unscheduled breaks during exams, students are not allowed to consult textbooks, notes, or ask questions to teachers or other students. Do not use electronic or communication devices during breaks.
- Students must remain in testing room for the duration of the exam
- You must attend all classes prior to and/or after your AP Exam
- Bring lunch in case your test runs into the lunch period (you’ll need to go directly to your next class)
- Contact Mr. Holtz directly if any of your exam times conflict directly with another exam, so an alternative can be arranged
WHAT TO BRING TO THE EXAM ROOM:
- Photo ID (school or government issued)
- Student Pack (with AP Number)
- Sharpened #2 pencils (no mechanical pencils)
- Black or blue pens
- Approved calculator/batteries, when allowable
- Optional: Sweatshirt, bottled water (clear bottle), and/or snack (for break time)
WHAT NOT TO BRING TO THE EXAM ROOM:
- Purses, backpacks, or bags (not allowed in testing rooms)
- Cell phones, smart watches, digital watches that beep, or any other electronics (not allowed in any circumstance)
- Hat or beanie
- Colored pencils, highlighters, correction fluid, or non-transparent pencil boxes/bags
- Books, compass, dictionaries, notebook(s), or scratch paper
