West Fargo Sheyenne High School's AP Policy

Dear AP Student::

Thanks for registering for AP exams.  Please review the following WFSHS AP policies as you plan for your exams.

  • Pens with black or dark blue ink for completing areas on the exam booklet covers and for free-response questions in most exams.

You are required to arrive no later than 15 minutes prior to your exam:  7:45 a.m. for the morning administration, and 11:45 a.m. for the afternoon administration. Students may not be dismissed until an exam has officially ended; do not ask to leave early if you finish before the end of the exam. If you play a sport or have a job, it is your responsibility to inform your coach or employer of your AP Exam obligation, and arrangements should be made accordingly.

Get a good night’s rest before your exam, and eat a nutritious breakfast. You are allowed to bring a snack and beverage for your 10-minute break. However, food and drink are prohibited in the exam room. It is advisable to bring a sweater, in case the room temperature is below your comfort level.

You are required to abide by the policies of both the College Board and Sheyenne High School during the exam period. Any misconduct will be reported and could jeopardize your AP Exam score. If you decide not to take an exam, please inform Mr. Bodell as soon as possible prior to the test administration.  Be sure to review the 2022-23 Bulletin for AP Students and Parents that you received earlier.  If you have any additional questions or concerns, feel free to contact Mr. Bodell. Good luck!

Calculator Policies

AP Calculus AB:

The use of a graphing calculator is considered an integral part of the AP Calculus course, and is permissible on parts of the AP Calculus Exams. Students should use this technology on a regular basis so that they become adept at using their graphing calculators. Students should also have experience with the basic paper-and-pencil techniques of calculus and be able to apply them when technological tools are unavailable or inappropriate.

Graphing Calculator Capabilities for the Exams

A graphing calculator appropriate for use on the exams is expected to have the built-in capability to:

·         Plot the graph of a function within an arbitrary viewing window
