Adlai E Stevenson High School's AP Policy

Please be aware of the AP exam policies and rules set forth by this school and the College Board:

  • You will be charged for any unused and/or canceled exams after November 8 for first-semester/full-year courses and after March 8 for second-semester only courses. This includes not showing up for an exam without prior notice to shs_testing@d125.org or cancellation by the deadlines set herein.
  • Students will not be allowed a makeup exam unless the reason given adheres to the College Board's cancellation policy here. Please note: Students that are taking more than one AP exam on the same day will not be allowed to reschedule, even with the $40 late testing fee, unless the AP exams conflict with each other. The AP schedule is available here for review. Students that register for many AP exams should be prepared for a rigorous testing schedule.
  • No students will be allowed admittance to exam rooms once the exam has started.
  • During scheduled or unscheduled breaks during exams, students are not allowed to consult textbooks, notes, or ask questions to teachers or other students. Students participating in this behavior will NOT be issued a warning and have their AP exam canceled/voided. During unscheduled breaks, students found to be missing for an unreasonably extended period of time will have their AP exam canceled/voided. Do not use electronic or communication devices during breaks.
  • Do not leave the building during the exam.

WHAT TO BRING TO THE EXAM ROOM:

  • No. 2 wooden pencils (not mechanical) for the multiple-choice answer sheet
  • Pens with black or dark blue ink for completing areas on the exam booklet covers and for free-response questions in most exams
  • Government-issued or school-issued photo I.D.
  • Calculators - If you are allowed to use a calculator on your AP Exam, review the College Board’s calculator policies to ensure you bring an acceptable calculator for your particular exam.

WHAT NOT TO BRING TO THE EXAM ROOM:

  • Electronic equipment or communication devices, like cell phones, smartphones, tablets, or anything else that can access the internet
  • Cameras or other photographic equipment
