Mills High School's AP Policy

AP Exam Policy

Please carefully read the AP Bulletin distributed to all students through their assigned AP course in January.  If you do not have an assigned AP course, please see Ms. Andrea Crowley in the Counseling Office to receive your AP Bulletin.

Mills High School strictly enforces all the rules and regulations outlined by the College Board and detailed in the AP Bulletin. Below are additional site-based policies for AP Exam Administration.

All students must report to the assigned testing locations at least 30 minutes prior to test start time, although students are recommended to arrive at least 45 minutes in advance.  No students will be admitted late to a testing session.

Electronic equipment (cell phones, smart phones, smartwatch, laptops, tablet computers, etc.), portable listening devices or recording devices (MP3 player, iPod, etc.), cameras or other photographic equipment, devices that can access the Internet, and any other electronic or communication devices are prohibited in the exam room.  Students observed with any of these devices during testing or during brekas, will be dismissed from the exam room and the device will be confiscated.  If a student uses a cell phone during the exam, his or her exam score will be canceled and no retest will be permitted.  If a student posts to any form of social media during the exam, the student's score will be canceled, and no retest will be permitted, and the student may be permanently barred from testing.

Backpacks and personal items must be left in a locker.  No test prep materials are allowed in test locations.  Calculators may be used for approved tests only.

Students must bring a valid school i.d. to each testing location.  Students must sit in assigned test seats.  Students are not allowed to choose their own seat.

Students who qualify for testing accommodations and/or modifications as outlined by a Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) must arrange for accommodations in advance through the College & Career Advisor, Sandy Murtagh (650-558-2518) or the Assistant Principal, Jose Gomez (650-558-2503) before on-line registration.
