IMPORTANT:

Students and guardians should complete this registration/enrollment process together.

Registering for AP courses and exams is a two-step process. Both steps must be completed to access AP Classroom resources and to have AP Exams ordered. The entire process can be done in one sitting and takes about 10 minutes.

COST:

HCPS will be covering the registration cost for all students who qualify for FARMS (free/reduced meals program) this year - ALL EXAMS REGISTERED FOR ARE FREE!

• In the event that any student registers for AP exams and decides to either cancel or not take the exam, please note they will still be required to pay the $42 per exam cancellation fee. This fee will be recorded as a student obligation at the end of the school year if not paid through Total Registration.
• Any students who register during the late period (November 16th - March 5th) will be required to pay the $42 per exam late registration fee (unless they are taking a second semester course).
• If you indicate you qualify for 'free/reduced meals', you will not receive a confirmation notice until this information is verified by your school. Once qualification is verified, you will receive a confirmation email from Total Registration.

Students in 9th or 10th grade NON FARMS

• Cost is $104 per exam
• In the event that any student registers for AP exams and decides to either cancel or not take the exam, please note they will still be required to pay the $42 per exam cancellation fee.  This fee will be recorded as a student obligation at the end of the school year if not paid through Total Registration.
• Any students who register during the late period (November 16th - March 5th) will be required to pay the $42 per exam late registration fee (unless they are taking a second semester course).
  • In this step, students will indicate whether they are eligible for a fee waiver (based on grade level and/or free or reduced meal status). Students who qualify will not be charged for the exam(s).

Step 1: Register & Pay in Total Registration

1. Complete the registration process on this website.
2. Pay your exam fees online at the time of registration (cash, checks, and money orders are not accepted at school).
   • The cost of each 2026 AP Exam is $104 per exam 

A confirmation page will appear once Step 1 is complete. This page includes the join codes you will need for Step 2.

Step 2: Enroll in MyAP (College Board)

1. Go to MyAP.CollegeBoard.org.
2. Log in with your College Board student account (the same account used for AP, PSAT, or SAT). If you don’t have one, create a new account. Do not create duplicate accounts.
3. Use the join codes from your confirmation page to enroll in all your AP courses and exams.

Important: Exams will not be ordered unless students are enrolled in MyAP and have completed registration/payment in Total Registration. Complete Step 2 right away.

• Exams not fully paid by 2026-11-09 11:59:00 PM will be canceled and not ordered.

  REFUND POLICY: Date by which a student can receive a Partial Refund (Classes that begin before mid-November). The Cancellation Fee (amount to withhold for partial refunds) is $42
