Advanced Placement Exam Registration
Dear Tates Creek High School Families,
We are excited to share important details about the 2026 AP Exam registration process. Please read this information carefully, as it outlines a two-step process that both students and guardians should complete together.
How to Register for AP Exams
The registration process has two required steps. Both steps must be completed for an exam to be ordered.
Step 1: Enroll with College Board
Your student should have already used the "join codes" from their teacher to enroll their courses and exams in the College Board system. If they have not done this, please have them contact their teacher immediately.
Log in to myap.collegeboard.org using your College Board login information. If you have previously created a College Board account and cannot login to My AP, please use the forgot username/password link to reset your account. AP Coordinators cannot reset College Board passwords. If you need help with your account, you must contact the College Board directly for assistance. If you have trouble logging in to My AP, please call the College Board at 866-315-6068.
AP exam orders on the College Board default to “Yes.” If you do not plan to test, you must change your selection to “No.” Otherwise, you’ll be responsible for the $40 cancellation fine.
Step 2: Complete Your Registration and Payment
After your student has enrolled with the College Board, they must complete the final registration and payment process through Total Registration. Payments can be made by credit card, check, or money order. All payments are made directly to Total Registration, not to Tates Creek High School.
Exams are free for students who qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. Please complete the FCPS Nutrition Application at https://www.myschoolapps.com/Application to update eligibility status before completing AP fee registration. Once your application is submitted, it may take several days for the district to process and update your eligibility status in the system. Please plan ahead and allow enough time for processing before the AP registration deadline.
