Advanced Placement Exam Registration
ATTENTION! Students and parents/guardians should complete this registration/enrollment TOGETHER. AP exam registration is a 2-STEP process and both steps MUST be completed to order AP Exams. STEP 1 should have been completed already in your AP class. STEP 2 can be completed during a single sitting in approximately 10 minutes.
**If you are enrolled in a second semester only class (US Gov't or Macro) you will NOT complete either step at this time. There will be a second semester only registration period starting in January for students enrolled in second semester only classes.
STEP 1 - in College Board’s MyAP platform - **Most of you have already completed this step in class**
Join all your AP classes in the College Board's MyAP system with the Join Codes you received from your AP teacher. Joining your classes in this system automatically registers you for this exam. This step MUST be completed to have an exam ordered for you, however you must complete step 2 to be fully registered. ** Only complete this step for year long and first semester only classes at this time. If you have questions about a specific join code, please see your AP teacher or reach out to Mrs. Curry (suzanne.curry@d128.org). If you do not intend to take an AP exam for a course you are enrolled in, you must still complete this step. You will have an opportunity in STEP 2 to select "Not Taking Exam, only enrolling in course” during the registration process.
STEP 2 - in this Total Registration platform - Complete the registration/payment process that begins below by logging in to your Total Registration (TR) account (for those who have taken an AP exam at VHHS recently) or creating an account.
There is no cost for enrolling in AP classes, however the 2025 AP exams cost $99 per exam. Students taking AP exams at Vernon Hills High School must register/pay here by November 14th. Please see the timeline below for ordering & refund deadlines and fees.
Vernon Hills High School is excited to offer families the ability to pay their exam fees online at the time of registration. Please be sure to have a credit card or debit card available before beginning registration. You will receive a confirmation page once this step of the registration process has been completed.

AP Exam Registration Timeline:
August 20, 2025 - Total Registration opens for AP exam registration & payment
November 14, 2025 - FINAL REGISTRATION & PAYMENT DEADLINE (for year long & first semester class exams)
November 14, 2025 - Deadline to receive a FULL REFUND for year long & first semester class exams (refunds after this date will be partial refunds and incur a $40 cancellation fee)
November 15, 2025 - LATE FEE of $40 per exam will be added to all late registrations for year long & first semester class exams
May 1, 2026 - Deadline to receive a PARTIAL REFUND. NO REFUNDS given after May 1, 2026
AP exams registrations that are not fully paid by Monday, March 9, 2026 will be canceled and exams will not be ordered.
